Mr. Rode was born in the upper mid-west and attended North Dakota State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1986. He then attended The University of Tulsa College of Law earning his Juris Doctorate in 1989, receiving the honor of the Order of Barristers. Mr. Rode took and passed the New York State Bar and the Oklahoma Bar.

He returned to Tulsa in 1990 and after briefly working for other firms started his own firm and focused his practice on representing people injured by the negligence of others with an emphasis on disc injuries. He brings more than 20 years of litigation experience and experience handling personal injury claims. In 2002 Mr. Rode’s client received a $500,000 verdict from a Tulsa County Jury which is the largest premises liability jury verdict in the history of Oklahoma.

Outside the practice of law, Mr. Rode has served as the Vice President and President of the Green Country Rotary Club, is an avid big game bow hunter, and enjoys camping and four wheeling.

Jesse L. FettketherJesse L. Fettkether
Attorney

Jesse was born in Waterloo, Iowa and stayed in Iowa until he received his Bachelors degree in Accounting from The University of Northern Iowa.  He moved to Tulsa with his wife and son so he could attend The University of Tulsa College of Law.  Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate Degree in 2003 he decided to make Tulsa his family’s home.  "I enjoy practicing at the Rode Law Firm as it gives me an opportunity to have one on one contact with clients and to press claims in the Courts if the client and I believe the insurance company is being unfair or unreasonable." 

Jesse also volunteers time for various non-profit organizations, serves on the Board of Directors of TulsaNow as well as the Tulsa Art Deco Museum, and is active with The University of Tulsa College of Law and the Oklahoma Bar Association.  He enjoys spending time outside with his wife and son hiking, sailing, BBQing,  going to TU games, and many other things.

Kirk SchauerKirk Schauer
Associate Attorney

Kirk was born in McCook, Nebraska and grew up in Springfield, Missouri. Kirk graduated from Evangel University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Government. While attending Evangel University, Kirk began working with his family’s business which manufactures safety products for schools. Before enrolling in law school and moving to Tulsa with his wife, he helped grow their business out of the family’s garage into a firm with customers around the world.

Kirk graduated from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 2010, and earned a certificate in Entrepreneurial Law. He was also awarded the CALI awards in Educational Law and Trial Practice. Kirk was hired at the Rode Law Firm as a Law Clerk and upon graduating from The University of Tulsa College of Law accepted a position as an Associate Attorney with the Firm. With extensive clinical and business experience, Kirk brings passion to the advocacy of injured persons.

David C. Bean
Attorney

David C. BeanDave was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in the surrounding suburbs. After graduating from Wake Forest University in North Carolina he returned to the Philadelphia area as a teacher and coach in both public and private schools.  A career change and law school brought Dave to Oklahoma and he graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1988.   He has practiced personal injury law in the Tulsa area, helping injured Oklahomans, for over twenty years.  The Bean family has always been athletically oriented with Dave, his wife, their children and now their grandchildren enjoying sports of all kinds.  The whole family enjoys boating and outdoor activities.

Dave received his B.A. from Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He did graduate work at Penn State University as well as West Chester University in Pennsylvania, and earned a Master’s Equivalency Degree while teaching.  Dave graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1988.

Syrena was born and raised south of Tulsa and has worked in the legal profession most of her adult life. After starting at the Rode Law Firm, she has worked her way up to Senior Team Leader and Office Manager. Syrena enjoys the one-on-one contact the Rode Law Firm encourages between Attorneys, Staff and Clients and feels this really helps improve our ability to help clients and get results. Maggie Lenertz
Claims Specialist

Maggie LenertzMaggie is a Connecticut native and a graduate of Purchase College in New York in 1985 with a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature. She spent 23 years in the property casualty insurance industry at several major carriers (including Travelers, The Hartford, Mid-Continent and ConocoPhillips), and in the process earned the designation of Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA) from the American Education Association. In her years in the insurance industry, she created training for bodily injury adjusters and taught adjusters how to handle injury claims and negotiate claims. She brings 23 years of claims and litigation experience to the Rode Law Firm. In her spare time Maggie and her husband, Jim, operate Hazeljane’s Blessings, a shelter rescuing Italian Greyhounds.

 

Melissa HernandezMelissa Hernandez
Team Lead

Melissa was born in Texas and has lived in Tulsa for most of her life. She has attended The University of Tulsa College of Law Family Law Program and worked in firms practicing both Family Law and Personal Injury Law. Since joining the Rode Law Firm, Melissa has been promoted to Team Lead. Melissa and her team provide efficient and effective support to the attorneys at the Rode Law Firm. Melissa is working on expanding her abilities by attending Tulsa Community College to obtain a Paralegal Degree.

Pia was born and raised in Chile. She moved to Tulsa with her family, and now Tulsa is her home. She was hired as the receptionist at the Rode Law Firm and has been promoted to executive assistant. Pia prides herself on bringing a positive, warm attitude to the office and efficient support service to our attorneys. Pia is also bi-lingual; as a native Spanish speaker she can translate when needed.

 

Kristin StahlmanKristin Stahlman
Team Member

Kristin was born in Stillwater and grew up in Edmond and Claremore, Oklahoma.  After graduating from Rogers State University with a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology she moved to London, England before deciding Tulsa was home and returning.  Outside of work Kristin volunteers for V-Day Tulsa, spends time with her dogs, and delves into the local arts scene.  She brings 10 years of experience working with people in a variety of situations and is able to help the Attorneys at the Rode Law Firm reach the best possible outcome for their clients.

Taylor was born and raised along the Atlantic coast in Georgia before marrying a Marine and moving around the country.  Upon her husbands honorable discharge they put down roots in Oklahoma and started a family.  Before working for the Rode Law Firm Taylor held various positions in the aerospace industry and is able to bring the unique task-oriented skills she acquired processing data to her work in the legal field.  She enjoys working at the Rode Law Firm because each day clients bring new and unique challenges that she gets to help work through as part of a team.

 

Brenda ContrerasBrenda Contreras
Team Member

Brenda was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  After attending University in Florida studying to be a Paralegal she has devoted herself to work with Plaintiffs firms.  In addition to providing legal assistance and support Brenda is fluent in both English and Spanish and can help bridge language barriers when needed.  At the Rode Law Firm Brenda strives to apply her education to help provide quick, efficient and positive results for clients.

 

Kim PetersenKim Petersen
Team Member

Kim was born and raised in Broken Arrow and currently resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.    When she isn’t at work or keeping up with her son, Kim spends time volunteering for a litany of organizations in Tulsa; including Blue Star Mothers, Emergency Infant Services, John 3:16, and Loaves and Fishes.  Before coming to work for the Rode Law Firm she worked in Social Security Law and is able to apply the detailed analysis methods she learned to make sure Attorneys at the Rode Law Firm have the best information available to move a case forward. 

 

Amber BakerAmber Baker
Receptionist

Amber was born in Glenpool and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She comes to the Rode Law Firm with a background in customer service with retailers and health insurance providers.  Amber is also completing an Associates Degree program to be a Legal Administrative Assistant.  She is able to transfer her background to help client’s of the Rode Law Firm stay in communication with their attorneys.

Chad was born and raised near Tulsa Oklahoma and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern State University. He is currently a second year law student at The University of Tulsa College of Law and anticipates receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2013. At the Rode Law Firm he provides detailed research and writing support for Attorneys at The firm.
